  1. Can Racism be stopped by telling people that they are human?

Can racism really be stopped by telling people that they are human? – well lets find out

Racism is on a wide scale, anyone can be racist and we have to find a way of stopping this. I think telling someone that they are human will stop racism as they will think to themselves and say “We are all humans and have equal rights and opportunities”. This will stop them from being racist and will help the world be a better place.
I just don’t get why people are racist to one another, we all have different qualities, so why don’t we just respect the qualities and life our lives.

  2. I believe that Racism can be stopped by one person showing a group of people the right thing to do. This quote “a gang of wild animals can be stopped, simply because they are human” shows this. In the Book to Kill a Mocking Bird character scout stands up to a mob of people and not knowingly stopped them from killing a black person who Atticus, (scouts father) was trying to defend. She reminded a member of the mob that they are all human and that they have kids and they are all the same.

  3. I believe that the quote by Atticus, “a gang of wild animals can be stopped, simply because they are human” to be true as by playing on people’s emmotions people can begin to realize the harm and negativity of their actions. Sometimes people need others to explain and show to them what they are doing and how it is affecting other people because they can’t see it for themselves. People have the ability to think and change and can therefore be persuaded or forced to change and do the right thing for themselves and society.

  4. I believe that reminding people that they are human can stop Racism. On pages 169 and 170 of Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ Scout is innocently speaking to Mr. Cunningham about his son Walter and how bad she thinks that ‘entailments’ are. This polite conversation between them both shows Mr. Cunningham that he and the gang which he is with don’t really need harm Tom Robinson so they drove off home. This is why I think that reminding people can stop racism.

  5. Racism can be stopped by reminding people of their feeling’s and that they are still human therefore they can’t hurt someone because they fear them. In To Kill a Mockingbird, the mob was coming to kill Tom, but Jem, Scout and Dill were hiding in the bush seeing what Atticus was doing. They thought Atticus was doing nothing but the mob arrived and started to threaten Atticus. They wanted him to move so they can get at Tom but Atticus had courage. He stood up to the mob and wanted to save Tom but the people wanted to get past him. The three kids steped in the way and blocked the path even though Atticus told them not to. Gem stayed and showed courage. Jem knows what the mob wanted to do but Scout and Dill dont and without knowing Scout talks to Mr Cunninngham in a casual nature. She reminds Mr Cunninghams about the time his son, Walter had lunch with their family. Mr Cunningham realises what he was doing is wrong and tells the mob to leave. This shows that everyone has emotion and if you hit a soft spot you can stop people from doing something that is wrong.
